Gardening

Gardening

Rutherglen and District Garden Club have contributed the following pages to assist and encourage readers to establish new gardens, grow their own vegetables and fruit, and continue to work with the gardens they have already established.  The information is designed to assist us all to have a pleasant garden environment surrounding our homes and in our streets despite continuing hot and dry weather patterns.

Rutherglen and District Garden Club have featured some of the ideas their members are using in their gardens, along with some hints for being water wise.  They also show some clever landscaping creations (using minimal or no plants), which all add some colour and structure to the garden.  Using structural features adds to the overall beauty of a garden where plants need to be kept to a minimum due to a shortage of water.

We are living in a world that is encouraging us all to be more resourceful, to recycle and use our resources more efficiently, so before you throw anything out – have another look at it and see if it can be turned into something useful in the garden!
