Concessions
Department of Human Services - Concessions
Centrelink issues two cards that are eligible for Victorian Government concessions. These are the Pensioner Concession Card (full concession) and the Health Care Card (part concession). The Department of Veterans' Affairs also issues two types of card - a Pensioner Concession Card and a Gold Card. Gold Cards marked "TPI" or "War Widow" attract a higher State Government concession than Gold Cards without these notations. These concessions are administered under strict guidelines on behalf of the Department of Human Services by public utilities such as North East Water.
Pensioner Concessions
If you are the holder of a Centrelink Veterans Affairs Card or Repatriation Health Card we may be able to provide you with an automatic concession on your account each quarter. The concession applies to water and wastewater (sewerage) service charges, water consumption and wastewater disposal (where applicable).
The following conditions apply:

- The property must be your sole and principal place of residence

- The Concession Card should be a valid card during the period to which the charge relates.
It is essential that North East Water be notified immediately of any change in card status: i.e. - no longer eligible, changed to part-pension, death of card holder.
If you would like to make an application on your sole principal place of residence, please download the application form from the Concessions Category in our Publications Section and return it to North East Water for review and processing together with a photocopy of the front and back of your Concession Card.
