Bundalong Water Supply - Community Survey

North East Water currently operates a limited water supply service in Bundalong.  This service was originally implemented by a private developer and now services a portion of the Bundalong community.

In working with Moira Shire Council, North East Water has identified the opportunity to upgrade this service to Bundalong residents.  Initial investigations have identified a preferred water supply for the township which will encompass:

  • A dual pipe reticulated water supply to provide both potable (drinking) and non-potable (untreated) supply to households and allotments not currently serviced.
  • Provision for supply of a dual water supply to new subdivisions in the future.

In order to successfully implement a water supply North East Water is now seeking community input from Bundalong property owners, in the below survey.

The purpose of the survey is to determine the level of community support and financial commitment for the proposed Bundalong water supply.  With this information North East Water will be able to fully assess the water supply proposal and determine its feasibility for implementation.

We would ask that all Bundalong propoerty owners, complete the attached survey by 29th June 2009.  A 100% survey return rate is desirable to be confident that the view of residents is fully understood.

Further information regarding the proposed supply will be available at an open community information session in Bundalong on Monday 22nd June 2009 from 7pm at the Bundalong Community Hall, Bundalong Recreation Reserve, Pyke Street, Bundalong.  For residents who are unable to attend this session, we would strongly encourage them to contact North East Water on 1300 361 622 to raise any questions or concerns regarding this project.

Once the survey results have been received and collated further information will be provided to residents regarding the future of the water supply proposal.  North East Water thanks residents for their anticipated involvement in this survey.
