North East Water is inviting residents to have their say on North East Water’s future pricing, service levels and infrastructure plans through a series of regional open information sessions in July.
The draft Water Plan 2013/14 - 2017/18 was recently released for consideration by Victoria’s economic regulator, the Essential Services Commission.
North East Water Executive Manager Customer and Financial Services, Anthony Hernan, said part of the process of finalising the document was community engagement on the proposals it contains.
“We are encouraging people to attend our information sessions and have an input into the Water Plan,” he said.
“This input from customers and interested community members will help to shape the final document.
“The Water Plan is an important document because it sets out the investments we will make over the next five years, the levels of service we are committed to meeting, and the pricing of those services.”
The first of the information sessions will be held in Wodonga on 17 July, followed by sessions at Benalla, Wangaratta, Myrtleford and Yarrawonga.
Mr Hernan said the sessions would follow an open forum format in which people could attend, view information and ask questions of staff at their leisure.
“There will also be a formal presentation at a set time for those who are interested, and copies of the presentation will be available for those not able to attend at that time,” he said.
The information session times and locations are as follows:
·  Wodonga: Tuesday 17 July 2012, 5.30pm-7.30pm, City of Wodonga Council Chambers, Level 2, 104 Hovell St, Wodonga
