North East Water's relationship with plumbers has become limited, but nevertheless is an important component of the plumbing industry.

Developers

North East Water has prepared a Developer's Handbook as a guide to persons needing to provide water supply and sewerage services on new subdivisions.

Tradewaste

North East Water has a trade waste by-law designed to regulate waste discharge from commercial and industrial premises.

Water Treatment

North East Water operates 30 treatment sites throughout the region.

Water Distribution

North East Water operates over 1600 kilometres of water mains and pipes throughout the region.

Wastewater Collection

North East Water manages more than 1,000 kilometres of sewer mains across the region. These mains collect household, commercial and industrial waste from more than 38,000 homes, businesses and factories, and transport it to our wastewater treatment plants for treatment.

Wastewater Treatment

North East Water treatment plants vary from lagoon-based treatment systems in the small hamlets of Barnawartha and Bundalong, to modern tertiary treatment plants at Wangaratta, Wodonga and Mt Beauty.

Reuse

North East Water has developed reclaimed water reuse schemes across the region in line with the requirements of the State Environmental Protection Policy Waters of Victoria.
